Touch Points

Pentecost (Shavuot in Hebrew) was the Jewish celebration commemorating the giving of the law to Moses at Mount Sinai. The account is written in Exodus 19:16-20. Read this passage alongside Acts 2:1-14.

Q1. What similarities do you see between these two events. Can you identify any differences?

Q2. Darren said that the coming of the Holy Spirit heralded the moment when God would fulfil the prophecies of Ezekiel 36:26 and Jeremiah 31:33. What do you make of the phrase writing the law on our hearts?

Read Romans 8:27

Q3. How do you feel about the Holy Spirit interceding (praying) for you. Why would his prayers for you be different from your own prayers?

Q4. How would you know if your prayers and the interceding of the Holy Spirit lined up perfectly. What do you think would happen if you were praying according to the will of God?

Q5. Darren said that one way to quench (stifle or supress) the Spirit was to stop praying. How do you feel about that?

Q6. Prayer has always been at the heart of Revival and a new move of the Spirit, how do you think we can prioritise prayer at Riverside?
