Touch Points

Q1. What is the thing you love the most about your culture?

Read Matthew 28:18-20 - The scripture is clear that we are to go to all nations.

Q2. As we are in a multicultural country, what do you think it means to reach other cultures/nationalities within Australia?

Read Revelation 7:9

Q3. Why is this scripture so important as we think about reconciliation between different cultures and nations?

Read Acts 10:1-2 (Or the whole chapter if you are keen!)

Q4. Why is it important to understand that Cornelius was God-fearing? How does this impact our understanding of Gentiles and their relationship to God before Christ?

Read Galatians 2:11-14

Q5. Cultural differences can lead to division in the church - an Us vs Them mentality. In the early church, this was the cultural difference between the Jews and the Gentiles, the Jews wanted Gentiles to act the same way they did.

Read Acts 17:22-28 and discuss.

Q6. Can you give examples where Christians missionaries have gone out into the world and met people in their cultural context. Feel free to look examples up on Google!

Q7. What does it look like to have different cultures in our church and still be united?

Q8. How do we make our church a culturally safe space for all nations, particularly as we think about our First Nations People?
